Which modules of the Emissario platform are available today?

Emissario Clima (GHG emissions inventory) and Emissario Opus (ESG project management) are currently live. Emissario Verum (verification) and Emissario Index (consolidation and disclosure reporting) are in active development. On-site field verification and Second-Party Opinions are already delivered today as professional services; the software modules will automate these workflows in upcoming releases.

Is Emissario an auditor or a certification body?

No. Emissario operates as a second party: we work directly with the client, understanding the project from the ground up. We verify, monitor, validate, and provide Second-Party Opinions. Formal audit and certification belong strictly to independent third parties — and our software provides the unbroken data trail they need to clear it.

Auditable, verifiable, and verified: what's the difference?

Auditable means the data is structured and ready for third-party audit. Verifiable means an unbroken, comprehensive evidentiary trail exists. Verified means someone was physically on the ground and confirmed it. The platform delivers the first two; the third is the work of our field analysts. Conflating these three means promising what you cannot deliver.

What is the relationship between Emissario, GSS, VBIO, and Repenso?

The climate-tech startup GSS Inovação and its platforms — VBIO.eco, Repenso, GSS Carbon, and Restaura.eco — have unified as Emissario. VBIO continues as the VBIO Program, focused on the sociobioeconomy, while Repenso becomes the Repenso Program, Emissario’s corporate climate program. GSS Impact Development Company remains an independent operating entity, managing strategic advisory services and sustainable assets.

Currently, no: CVM Resolution 244 revoked the mandatory requirement previously outlined in CVM 193. The driving force is commercial: institutional investors, debt providers, corporate buyers, global HQs, and listing tiers — all treating ISSB as the primary reference standard.

MRV is the framework of processes used to quantify an environmental outcome, report it in a standardized format, and independently verify it. It serves as the foundation for carbon credits, sustainable finance, and the Brazilian Sustainable Taxonomy (TSB). At Emissario, on-the-ground verification is already delivered as a service, while our dedicated MRV platform module, Emissario Verum, is currently under development.

What are scopes 1, 2, and 3?

These are the three emission categories of the GHG Protocol:
Scope 1: Direct emissions from sources within the company itself, such as fleet and boilers.Scope 2: Emissions from purchased electrical and thermal energy.Scope 3: Indirect emissions from the value chain, from suppliers to the use and disposal of products, divided into 15 categories.In many sectors, Scope 3 represents the largest portion of inventory and is the most difficult to measure.

Is it possible to hire just project curation or also on-site verification?

Yes. The VBIO Program represents the full end-to-end track, with origination sourced across our proprietary network. However, if your project portfolio already exists and you only require specific modules — such as technical curation, baseline diagnostic assessments, field execution verification, or a Second-Party Opinion (SPO) — these services can be engaged à la carte, based on billable hours or defined scope, directly layered onto Emissario Opus.
